Finally, our plans have become reality, a tasty and nutritious reality of energy and protein bars. The first ever batch of SENS bars has been produced and transported to the logistics centre. First things first, we are shipping rewards to our backers from the Kickstarter crowd funding campaign. Trust us when we say they’ve waited long enough. Now it’s your turn to give our bars a try.
Imagine you are a start-uper, you have so much work, you don’t know where to start, and someone tells you to go abroad for a week. Are you kidding? Impossible. But what if they add, you will go to San Francisco, the mecca of start-ups, to learn from the best. Hell yeah! When is the flight?
A successful Kickstarter campaign? Check. A unique recipe? Check. What’s next? We need to find a reliable supplier of cricket flour and a bar manufacturer with enough production capacity, so that we can actually start making those bars. As expected, it didn’t go without a hitch.
Our first plan was to do the Kickstarter campaign in March of 2016, but that was just wishful thinking. Why? Creating a recipe for the world’s first true insect-based protein bar from all natural ingredients was much more of a challenge than we could have ever imagined.
As you probably know by now, we at SENS decided to take on this little task of changing the western diet. In the “behind the scenes” series we want to share our progress with you because, let’s face it, it might take a while. Also it’s healthy to have a place where you can cry about your failures and celebrate those small wins along the way. So, how did we get from an idea to a successful Kickstarter campaign?
