You can visit our website without providing any personal information. Whenever a website is accessed, the web server automatically stores a so-called server log file, which contains e.g. the name of the requested file, your IP address, date and time of access, the amount of data transferred and the requesting provider (access data), and documents the access.

These access data are evaluated exclusively for the purpose of ensuring trouble-free operation of the site as well as improving our offer. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests in the correct presentation of our offer in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR, which prevail in the context of a balancing of interests. All access data will be deleted no later than seven days after the end of your visit to the site.

Unless otherwise stated in this privacy policy, all access data as well as all data collected in the forms provided on this website are processed on their servers.

1.2 Content Delivery Network

To reduce loading times, we use a so-called Content Delivery Network (“CDN”) for some offers. 5. Advertising by e-mail

5.1 E-mail newsletter with registration and newsletter tracking

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use the data required for this or separately provided by you to send you our e-mail newsletter regularly on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR.

You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, either by sending a message to the contact option described below or via a dedicated link in the newsletter. After unsubscribing, we will delete your e-mail address from the distribution list, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR or we reserve the right to further use data as permitted by law and as explained in this policy.

We would like to point out that we evaluate your user behavior when sending the newsletter. For this purpose, we also analyze how you interact with our newsletter by measuring, storing and evaluating open rates and click rates in order to design future newsletter campaigns (“newsletter tracking”).

For this evaluation, the e-mails sent contain one-pixel technologies (e.g. so-called web beacons, tracking pixels) that are stored on our website. For evaluations, we particularly link the following “newsletter data”

  • the page from which the page was requested (so-called referrer URL),
  • the date and time of the request,
  • a description of the type of web browser used,
  • the IP address of the requesting computer,
  • the e-mail address,
  • the date and time of registration and confirmation

and the one-pixel technologies with your e-mail address or your IP address and, where applicable, an individual ID. Links contained in the newsletter may also contain this ID.

If you do not wish newsletter tracking, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time as described above.

The information is stored as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter.

5.2 Newsletter dispatch

The newsletter and the newsletter tracking described above may also be sent by our service providers as part of processing on our behalf. If you have any questions about our service providers and the basis of our cooperation with them, please use the contact details provided in this privacy policy.

Our service providers are located and/or use servers in the USA. For the USA, there is no adequacy decision by the European Commission. Our cooperation with them is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

If you have given us your express consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR during or after your order, we use your e-mail address to ask you to submit a review of your order via the review system we use. You may withdraw this consent at any time by sending a message to the contact option described in this privacy policy or via a dedicated link in the review request.

6. Cookies and other technologies

General information

In order to make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use technologies including so-called cookies on various pages. Cookies are small text files that are automatically stored on your end device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted again after the end of the browser session, i.e. after closing your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your end device and enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies).

Protection of privacy on end devices

When using our online services, we employ technologies that are strictly necessary to provide the telemedia service expressly requested by you. The storage of information on your end device or access to information already stored on your end device does not require your consent in this respect.

For functions that are not strictly necessary, the storage of information on your end device or access to information already stored on your end device requires your consent. We would like to point out that, if consent is not given, parts of the website may not be fully usable. Any consent you have given will remain in effect until you adjust or reset the respective settings on your end device.

Any subsequent data processing by cookies and other technologies

We use technologies that are strictly necessary for the use of certain functions of our website (e.g. shopping cart function). Using these technologies, IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website (e.g. information about the contents of the shopping cart) are collected and processed. This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests in an optimized presentation of our offer in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR, which prevail in the context of a balancing of interests.

We also use technologies to comply with the legal obligations to which we are subject (e.g. to be able to prove consents to the processing of your personal data) as well as for web analytics and online marketing. Further information, including the respective legal basis for data processing, can be found in the following sections of this privacy policy.

Cookie settings for your browser can be found under the following links: Microsoft Edge™ / Safari™ / Chrome™ / Firefox™ / Opera™

If you have consented to the use of technologies in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR, you can withdraw your consent at any time by sending a message to the contact option described in the privacy policy.

7. Use of cookies and other technologies for web analytics and advertising purposes

If you have given your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR, we use the cookies and other technologies of third-party providers listed below on our website. After the purpose has ceased to apply and the use of the respective technology by us has ended, the data collected in this context will be deleted. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Further information on your withdrawal options can be found in the section “Cookies and other technologies”. Further information, including the basis of our cooperation with the respective providers, can be found with the individual technologies. If you have any questions about the providers and the basis of our cooperation with them, please use the contact details provided in this privacy policy.

7.1 Use of Google services for web analytics and advertising purposes

We use the technologies of Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”) described below. Information collected automatically about your use of our website by Google technologies is generally transmitted to and stored on a server of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For the USA, there is no adequacy decision by the European Commission. Our cooperation with them is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. If your IP address is collected via Google technologies, it will be shortened before storage on Google’s servers by activating IP anonymization. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Unless otherwise stated for the individual technologies, data processing is based on an agreement between joint controllers in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR. Further information on data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy.

Google Tag Manager
Our website uses Google Tag Manager, a service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Tag Manager is used to manage tracking tools and other services, so-called website tags. A tag is an element stored in the source code of our website, which is used, for example, to record specified usage data. Google Tag Manager itself operates without cookies. Google Tag Manager ensures that the usage data required by our partners (see the data processing operations described above) are forwarded to them. Data are in part processed on a Google server in the USA. Insofar as personal data are transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in integrating and managing multiple tags on our website in a straightforward manner. For more detailed information, please see Google’s information on Tag Manager.

Google Analytics
For the purpose of website analytics, Google Analytics automatically collects and stores data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website), from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Your IP address is generally not merged with other data from Google. Data processing is based on a data processing agreement with Google.

For the purpose of optimized marketing of our website, we have activated the data sharing settings for “Google products and services”. This allows Google to access and subsequently use the data collected and processed by Google Analytics to improve Google services. Data sharing with Google within the scope of these data sharing settings is based on an additional agreement between controllers. We have no influence on the subsequent data processing by Google.

We also use the Google Analytics extension Google Optimize to create and conduct tests.

For the purpose of optimized marketing of our website, we use the so-called User ID function. With this function, we can assign a unique, permanent ID to your interaction data from one or more sessions on our online offerings and thus analyze your user behavior across devices and sessions.

For web analytics, the Google Analytics extension Google Signals enables so-called cross-device tracking. Insofar as your internet-enabled devices are linked to your Google account and you have activated the “personalized advertising” setting in your Google account, Google can create reports about your usage behavior (in particular cross-device user numbers), even if you change your end device. We do not process any personal data in this respect; we only receive statistics compiled on the basis of Google Signals.

For web analytics and advertising purposes, the Google Analytics DoubleClick cookie enables your browser to be recognized when you visit other websites. Google uses this information to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity.

Google AdSense
Our website markets advertising space for third-party ads via Google AdSense. These ads are displayed in various places on this website. The DoubleClick cookie enables the display of interest-based advertising by collecting and processing data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website), and by automatically assigning a pseudonymous User ID, which is used to determine interests based on visits to this and other websites.

Google Maps
For the visual display of geographical information, Google Maps collects data about your use of the Maps functions, in particular IP address and location data, transmits this to Google and then processes it. We have no influence on this subsequent data processing.

Google reCAPTCHA
To protect our web forms from misuse and spam by automated software (so-called bots), Google reCAPTCHA collects data (IP address, time of visit, browser information as well as information about your use of our website) and performs an analysis of your use of our website using JavaScript and cookies. In addition, other cookies stored in your browser by Google services are evaluated. Personal data from the input fields of the respective form are neither read nor stored.

Google Fonts
For uniform display of content on our website, Google Fonts’ script code collects data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information), transmits them to Google and then processes them. We have no influence on this subsequent data processing.

YouTube Video Plugin
To integrate third-party content, the YouTube video plugin collects data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information) in the extended data protection mode we use, transmits them to Google and then processes them – but only if you play a video.

7.2 Use of Microsoft services for web analytics and advertising purposes

We use the technologies of Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, D18 P521, Ireland (“Microsoft”) described below. Data processing is based on an agreement between joint controllers pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR. Information automatically collected about your use of our website by Microsoft technologies is generally transmitted to and stored on a server of Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA. For the USA, there is no adequacy decision by the European Commission. Our cooperation with them is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Further information on data processing by Microsoft can be found in Microsoft’s privacy policy.

Microsoft Advertising
For advertising purposes in the Bing, Yahoo and MSN search results as well as on third-party websites, the Microsoft Advertising remarketing cookie is set when you visit our website. This automatically enables interest-based advertising through the collection and processing of data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website) and via a pseudonymous cookie ID, based on the pages you visit.

For website analytics and event tracking, we use Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) to measure your subsequent usage behavior when you arrive at our website via a Microsoft Advertising ad. Cookies may be used for this purpose and data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information and information about your use of our website based on events defined by us, such as visiting a page or subscribing to a newsletter) may be collected and used to create usage profiles using pseudonyms. Insofar as your internet-enabled devices are linked to your Microsoft account and you have not deactivated the “Interest-based advertising” setting in your Microsoft account, Microsoft can create reports on usage behavior (in particular cross-device user numbers), even if you change your end device (so-called cross-device tracking). We do not process any personal data in this respect; we only receive statistics compiled on the basis of Microsoft UET.

Bing Maps
For the visual display of geographical information, Bing Maps collects data about your use of the Maps functions, in particular IP address and location data, transmits them to Microsoft and then processes them. We have no influence on this data processing.

7.3 Use of Facebook services for web analytics and advertising purposes

Use of Facebook Pixel
We use Facebook Pixel within the technologies of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook (by Meta)” or “Meta Platforms Ireland”) described below. With Facebook Pixel, data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website based on events defined by us, such as visiting a page or subscribing to a newsletter) are automatically collected and stored, from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. As part of the so-called extended data matching, information that can identify individuals (e.g. names, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers) is also collected and stored in hashed form for matching purposes. When you visit our website, a cookie is automatically set by Facebook Pixel, which enables your browser to be recognized when visiting other websites by means of a pseudonymous cookie ID. Facebook (by Meta) combines this information with other data from your Facebook account and uses it to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services relating to website use, in particular personalized and group-based advertising.

Information automatically collected by Facebook (by Meta) technologies about your use of our website is generally transmitted to and stored on a server of Meta Platforms, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. For the USA, there is no adequacy decision by the European Commission. Insofar as data transfer to the USA falls within our responsibility, our cooperation is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Further information on data processing by Facebook can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy.

Facebook analytics
Within the framework of Facebook Business Tools, statistics on visitor activities on our website are created from the data collected with Facebook Pixel about your use of our website. Data processing is based on a data processing agreement with Facebook (by Meta). Our analysis serves the optimal presentation and marketing of our website.

Facebook Ads (Ads Manager)
We advertise this website via Facebook Ads on Facebook (by Meta) and other platforms. We determine the parameters of the respective advertising campaign. Facebook (by Meta) is responsible for the exact implementation, in particular the decision on the placement of the ads with individual users. Unless otherwise stated for the individual technologies, data processing is based on an agreement between joint controllers in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR. Joint responsibility is limited to the collection of data and its transmission to Meta Platforms Ireland. The subsequent data processing by Meta Platforms Ireland is not covered by this.

7.4 Other providers of web analytics and online marketing services

Cookies may be used for this purpose. The pseudonymized usage profiles are not merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym without separate, express consent. Hotjar acts as a processor on our behalf.

Use of Vimeo video plugin for integration of third-party content
To integrate third-party content, the video plugin of Vimeo LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York 10011, USA (“Vimeo”) collects data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information), transmits them to Vimeo and then processes them. Data processing is based on an agreement between joint controllers pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR. Google Analytics is automatically integrated into the Vimeo video plugin. For the purpose of website analytics, Google Analytics automatically collects and stores data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website), from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Google Analytics is a service provided by Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Information automatically collected by Google about your use of our website is generally transmitted to and stored on a server of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your IP address is shortened before storage on Google’s servers by activating IP anonymization. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. We have no influence on and no access to the data processing by Vimeo, including the settings and results of Google Analytics. For the USA, there is no adequacy decision by the European Commission. Our cooperation with them is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

9.1 Social plugins from Facebook (by Meta), Instagram (by Meta), Xing

Social buttons from social networks are used on our website. These are only embedded as HTML links so that no connection is established with the servers of the respective provider when our website is accessed. If you click on one of the buttons, the website of the respective social network will open in a new browser window. There you can, for example, click the Like or Share button.
