Trotzdem versuchen wir bestmöglich zu handeln und Schlechtes zu vermeiden. Und das “good” ist für uns kein leeres Werbeversprechen.

In contrast, there is almost no research in large scale cricket farming. However, the logic of using less natural resources works. With future improvements, we can make this sustainable protein also the cheapest.

Whether protein bar or pasta, the products look great and taste delicious. What started as a small Kickstarter campaign in 2016 has lead us to promoting the cricket protein idea to millions. Sens products are the best propaganda of this sustainable protein.

In contrast, there is almost no research in large scale cricket farming. However, the logic of using less natural resources works. With future improvements, we can also make this sustainable protein the cheapest source of meat-quality protein.

Thailand produzieren
Genau wie die Schokolade, Datteln oder Erdnüsse entstammt auch unser Grillenprotein in unseren Riegeln nicht aus Europa.
However, this is just the intermediate phase. We see our farm as a pilot farm where we can research and optimize the production. When the demand for cricket protein rises, we envision efficient, automated cricket farms located in the suburbs of every big city, true farm-to-table style.
We chose Thailand because of the people’s extensive cricket farming know-how. We collaborate with local universities and hire those experienced in cricket farming. The country’s hot weather is also ideal for farming.

machen können
Um ehrlich zu sein müssen wir noch viele Dinge besser machen! Wir kommen zum Beispiel oft zu spät zu unseren wöchentlichen Meetings und bestellen gerne ab und zu Junk Food. Wir sind auch nur Menschen und als kleines Unternehmen können wir nicht gleichzeitig an allen Fronten kämpfen. Wir wollen und müssen bestimmte Dinge einfach besser machen.
Nehmen wir zum Beispiel die Verpackung. Bisher gibt es für uns noch keine Lösung für kompostierbare Verpackungen. Mit den derzeit verfügbaren Materialien würden unsere Proteinriegel in zwei Monaten hart wie Stahl und unsere Cracker labberig werden und den Biss verlieren. Da wir nicht in der Lage sind, unsere eigene Verpackung zu entwickeln, müssen wir uns auf unsere Kunden verlassen, dass sie die Verpackungen richtig entsorgen. Sobald wir eine Lösung gefunden haben, werden wir diese natürlich nutzen.

This is just an intermediate phase. We see our farm as a pilot farm, in which we research and optimize the production. When the demand for cricket protein rises, we envision automated and efficient cricket farms in suburbs of every big city, true farm to table style.
Thailand was chosen for extensive knowhow that was already in cricket farming. We collaborate with local universities and hire people experienced in cricket farming. The hot weather is also ideal for farming.

To be honest here, we are still improving a ton of stuff! We are a small company and we cannot pick many fights. So besides being late on our weekly update meetings and occasional junk food binging, we want to come clear with few things we would love to do better.
For example, there is no solution to compostable packaging yet. With the currently available compostable foils our protein bars would get rock dry in two months and our dry crackers would slowly absorb moist and lose “the crack”. Being unable to develop our own packaging, we choose to preserve food and leave it up to you to recycle the plastic and paper wraps. Once we find a working solution, we will use it.

Thailand hat die meisten Erfahrungen in der Grillenzucht. Daher arbeiten wir mit lokalen Universitäten zusammen und stellen Leute mit jahrelanger Erfahrung auf diesem Gebiet ein. Daneben ist das heiße Wetter ideal für die Zucht.
